Bring out the welcome mat.

One of the very cool things about living in another country is welcoming your friends and family as visitors. We only got one visitor during our year and a half in Argentina -- he was an awesome visitor, no doubt, but we're hoping to get a few more visits in Panama.

And it's kicking off with my aunt and my sister, who are arriving this month! They've been talking about it for a little while and made it all official by recently buying their tickets.

Not only are we looking forward to their company (and whatever treats they pack for us in their suitcases!), but we're excited about the opportunity to do the things we've been meaning to do: the Panama Canal and other city sites, new beaches, new restaurants. We're pretty good at getting out and about, but daily life is daily life -- and getting caught up in all the awesome stuff we're doing has meant that we haven't spent much time in the city.

But their visit is going to change all that, and we are super excited.
